Working Holiday

Holiday time is always a good time. I am using this holiday as a time to prepare myself for my upcoming examination tour for Trinity-Guildhall…..reading marking schemes, syllabus, practising giving aural tests!!……working in the house and   garden to prepare it while I am away….
Strangely enough, it is not the examination marking or procedure that concerns me too much…it is more the logistics…..travel, referring problems and sending back reports to London and the like….October and November will be interesting months!
Talking of logistics, I have been out to dinner with my daughter Emily. She is in her final year of school and working very hard to prepare for examinations. She has huge discipline!! She works so hard, but then she does achieve very well, so I think it is well deserved. Here are a couple of photos of her – one taken when she was about five and one this year (aged 18)……you can see the similarities.

So I have returned to this blog site, though it is linked from my web page. It is quicker to use this page than to use the one I found on the web site. The one useful addition to the web site version is being able to insert separate audio files, which I am not yet able to do here. However the audio files are still available on my web site if you are interested in hearing some of my performances – clarinettist, conductor, composer…..the audio here only works in Internet Explorer in any case, as I need to be able to insert extra code to make Media Player work as a plugin for Firefox…..a Microsoft plot?

So if you are a return visitor, welcome back. If you are a new reader, good to see you. Please feel free to leave comments. That way I know you have been here  🙂
